Editor’s note — September 2026: This announcement was originally published on November 1, 2022, to mark the launch of travelism.jp. It has been expanded to explain the purpose behind the site at the time it began.
Welcome to travelism.jp.
We launched this site with a simple idea: a trip to Japan should be about more than moving from one famous attraction to the next.
Some of the most memorable moments happen between the major sights—in a neighborhood café, on the walk back to your accommodation, or while noticing the rhythms of everyday life in a place that is new to you.
Why We Started travelism.jp
Planning a first trip to Japan can involve many unfamiliar decisions. Transportation, payments, accommodation, local customs, and seasonal conditions may all work differently from what travelers expect, especially when information is difficult to find without Japanese-language knowledge.
We created travelism.jp to make those decisions easier while sharing ways to experience Japan beyond conventional sightseeing. We want to help visitors think not only about where to go, but also about where to stay, how to spend their time, and what they might discover along the way.
What We Hope to Share
As the site grows, we plan to publish practical travel information, introduce places and neighborhoods, and explore how accommodation can become part of the travel experience rather than simply somewhere to sleep.
Our hope is that travelism.jp will become a useful starting point for travelers who want to understand Japan more deeply and experience each destination at a thoughtful pace.
Thank you for visiting. We hope you enjoy exploring Japan with us.
Update — September 2026: Since this announcement was published, travelism.jp has grown into a collection of practical guides for international visitors and the official home of the accommodation properties we operate. You can now explore our Japan travel guides in Tabi Navi or read more about the site’s current work and editorial perspective on About travelism.jp.
