PokéPark KANTO has announced two changes to plan around: identity checks for individual visitors from November 1, 2026, and earlier opening and closing times from February 2027. If you live outside Japan and book through the overseas ticket store, bring your original passport and make sure your application details match it.
The Pokémon attraction is inside Yomiuriland in the Tokyo area, with Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town offering different experiences. Before reserving, check which areas your group can enter, which ticket fits, and when you can request the additional reservations used inside the park.
Information checked: October 25, 2026. This article covers the October 20 and October 22 announcements. All times are Japan Standard Time (JST, UTC+9).
From November 1: Bring the Passport Used for Your Booking
The October 20 identity-check announcement (Japanese) says individual checks will take place at the PokéPark KANTO entrance from November 1. Children under three who do not need tickets are excluded. Passing through the Yomiuriland gate comes before this check.
For overseas residents using the Official Web Ticket Store, the English FAQ, under “Ticket・Limited-access ticket” specifies an original passport; copies are not accepted. This applies to ticket-holding children as well as adults. The domestic booking route has a different list of acceptable identification, so follow the instructions for the site where you bought your tickets.
The overseas seller’s Passport ID Verification instructions say you register your passport ID during the application and scan that passport at admission. The registered ID cannot be changed after submission. Check it carefully before applying; missing or mismatched documents may lead to denied entry.
If you already have tickets and notice an error—or will renew your passport before traveling—contact the seller before your visit. Do not assume staff can correct the booking at the gate.
February 2027 Hours Move One Hour Earlier
The October 22 announcement sets out the following schedule:
| Visit period | PokéPark KANTO hours | Earliest app sign-up for limited-access tickets |
|---|---|---|
| Through January 2027 | 11 a.m.–7 p.m. | 10:45 a.m., after entering Yomiuriland |
| From February 2027 | 10 a.m.–6 p.m. | 9:45 a.m., after entering Yomiuriland |
Both opening and closing move forward by an hour; the announced operating day stays eight hours long. For a February visit, plan your journey around the earlier finish as well as the earlier start.
The app time is not an early admission time for PokéPark KANTO. You must first enter Yomiuriland, and your ticket may have its own timed-entry conditions. If Yomiuriland opens at 10 a.m. or later, you can apply only after entering. Check the park calendar for your date; schedules can change.
Use the Booking Route for Overseas Residents
If you live outside Japan, follow the link to the Official Web Ticket Store for overseas residents. The domestic site requires membership and Japanese mobile-number SMS verification. The route depends on residence, not simply the language you prefer to read.
The overseas store runs a monthly ticket lottery for visits three months ahead. Applications run from the 1st through the 12th, with selected applicants notified around month-end and payment due by the last day of that month. Entering the lottery does not secure a ticket: if selected, you must complete payment by the specified deadline to complete your purchase. The lottery application opening time changed to 7 p.m. JST from October 2026.
Under that schedule, the next application period would be November 1–12 for February 2027 visits, opening at 7 p.m. on November 1. Confirm the February listing and current instructions on the store before applying. The regular January application period has already passed. For a January visit, check the store for any further purchasing opportunities.
Choose the date, ticket type, visitor details, and any required time slots carefully. Prices vary by visit day, so use the amount shown for your selection. Keep your application number and email address: the seller’s Order Verification page lets you check your application and complete a purchase if selected.
Choose Your Pass Around the Forest Restrictions
| Pass | Main difference |
|---|---|
| Town Pass | Sedge Town access; no Pokémon Forest entry. Follow the entry time on the ticket. |
| Trainer’s Pass | Sedge Town plus one timed entry to Pokémon Forest, without forest re-entry. |
| Ace Trainer’s Pass | Forest re-entry and extra benefits, including a reserved gym-show seat and one priority ride on each of the two attractions. |
Pokémon Forest has steep paths and a 110-step staircase. Children under five cannot enter, even when carried. The rules also restrict entry during pregnancy and require visitors to be able to negotiate the 110-step staircase safely on their own. The official ticket comparison and forest admission rules include guidance for wheelchair users, including a stairlift to a gentler section; check with the park about your circumstances before choosing a forest pass.
For families with younger children, Town Pass is the option to examine first. Compare the experience you can actually use rather than choosing a more expensive pass for access that some members of your group cannot use.
Prepare the English App Before Your Park Day
The English app supports tickets bought through the overseas store. The official FAQ says it is downloadable with an App Store or Google Play account set to a country outside Japan, and usable after arriving in Japan and connecting to a network there. Before departure, read “Are non-Japanese versions of the official app supported?” in the official FAQ for these requirements.
These in-park reservations are separate from buying an admission pass. The limited-access ticket guide lists first-come, first-served reservations for Pokémon Daisuki Shop and Pokémon Playhouse, and a lottery for Sedge Gym Show. Applying is free, but admission alone does not guarantee every reservation. Ace Trainer’s Pass includes its own reserved show benefit.
Once tickets have been scanned into the app, do not uninstall it or clear its cache: the park warns that doing so can cause the ticket to be lost and prevent rescanning.
Getting There
Head to Yomiuriland, then follow the signs inside to PokéPark KANTO. The official access guide includes the Sky Shuttle gondola route from Keiō-yomiuri-land Station. Allow time for both the journey to Yomiuriland and the walk to the PokéPark entrance, especially when your ticket has a fixed time.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need a separate Yomiuriland admission ticket?
-
No. PokéPark KANTO passes include Yomiuriland admission. Other Yomiuriland rides and experiences may require separate tickets.
- Can I cancel a ticket bought through the overseas store?
-
The overseas store provides cancellation options subject to its own conditions and deadline. Read the Important Note before purchase and check your order afterward. Do not apply the Japanese domestic site’s cancellation deadline to an overseas booking.
- Can I request limited-access tickets from my hotel?
-
No. Sign-up opens only after the relevant ticket has been used to enter Yomiuriland and the daily sign-up time has arrived. Entering early does not let one group member reserve for companions who have not yet entered.
